Michael Stockley
Ein tragischer Unfall erschüttert die eSport und Rainbow 6 Siege-Szene. Michael Stockley, bekannt unter dem Namen KiXSTAr, ist von uns gegangen. In der R6 Siege-Szene ist er als ehemaliger Pro-Gamer und aktiver Kommentator bekannt gewesen. Bei einem Autounfall, an dem kein anderes Fahrzeug beteiligt gewesen ist, kam der 24-Jährige ums Leben.
Sein Freund und Kommentatoren-Kollege Parker Mackay hat den Tod kürzlich öffentlich gemacht. In seinem Statement drückt er seinen Schmerz über den tragischen Verlust aus. Er betont, dass der Unfall weder eigen- noch fremdverschuldet zustande gekommen ist, sondern ein Unglück war:
„I’ve struggled to put my thoughts into proper words over the last 24 hours. I’m at a total loss. I lost a best friend, a brother, and a coworker. I’m beyond heartbroken. I love you Michael and I’ll miss you so much. After speaking with his family they wanted to share that Michael passed away doing what he loved second most in this world: driving. He was by himself & no one else was injured or involved. While it’s understandable to be curious please respect the family’s privacy. Thank you. To be totally and completely clear: it was accidental. Hopefully this answers your questions.“

Außerdem teilt er ein Statement von Stockley’s Familie. Darin spricht die Mutter des Kommentatoren darüber, wie er in seiner Arbeit aufgegangen ist und wie wichtig die R6 Siege-Community für ihn war. Sie bedankt sich für die emotionale Unterstützung, die ihr und ihrer Familie auf dem Netz erreicht:
„For the past 20 months we were fortunate to habe Michael back home, living with us during lockdown. Casting und streaming from his bedroom, sharing meals with us, spending time with extended family this summer. And letting us all get to know him better. He’d been gone for so lang, traveling the world and meeting so many of you in the R6 Siege-Community. He came home happier und stronger and for that we are grateful. (…)
On Monday, October 11 Michael ‚KiXSTAr‘ Stockley passed away unexpectedly. He had so much planned for the future, he was lookinh forward to working with so many of you. Michael worked hard to lift the R6 Siege-Community. And in turn, so many of you lifted him up as well. We are grateful for the love and support that we have experienced from so many of you.
